“Adieu! Cousin Diana” “Adios! Nurse Diana”

“Farewell” “Vale, Mistress Diana” “Farewell”

Those art the dissembled squalls

Of friends and family foregathered

Around the casket of thy Nightingale

Concurrently, the maidens hath ready

Their party-like cookings and ale

Alack! Hither art thy place for prattles?

Fie on thee! Thou act like fusty nuts without kernel

What hath thee wrought?

Wherefore deceiveth thyself this morrow?

Out upon thee! Ye clodpoles

I marvel much forth; wherefore shouteth “Huzzah!”

And no tears were shed for Diana.
